Baker Hughes, a global energy technology company, has inked a significant 20-year framework agreement with Chevron Australia, focusing on the supply of cutting-edge subsea production systems. Under this long-term collaboration, Baker Hughes will deploy its state-of-the-art Aptara subsea production systems to support Chevron Australia's upcoming offshore ventures.
The Aptara suite comprises an extensive range of advanced subsea equipment, including subsea trees, wellheads, control systems, and more. What sets Aptara apart is its adaptability, lightweight construction, and compact TOTEX-lite subsea systems, designed to meet the ever-evolving demands of the industry.
This strategic partnership aims to streamline regional deliveries of Baker Hughes' 7” Aptara subsea production systems. A pivotal aspect of the agreement is the strong emphasis on Australian Industry Participation, marking a commitment to fostering local industries and resources. This approach ensures a significant role for Australia and the broader region in the development of crucial natural gas supplies.
David Dillon, Senior Vice President of Subsea & Surface Pressure Systems, Oilfield Services, and Equipment at Baker Hughes, expressed confidence in the collaboration, stating, “Baker Hughes brings global expertise and a proven record in delivering key projects throughout the Asia Pacific region. This new framework agreement reflects our continued commitment to deliver valuable solutions to our customers and help navigate the evolving energy landscape in the most productive and efficient manner.”
Highlighting other recent milestones, Baker Hughes announced securing two contracts with Norwegian oil and gas company Vår Energi in September. These contracts further solidify Baker Hughes' presence in the North Sea, specifically in exploration logging, well intervention technology, and subsea production systems.
