Brazilian FPSO Set to Resume Production by November

Enauta, a Brazilian oil and gas company, has adjusted its production restart timeline for a Floating Production, Storage, and Offloading (FPSO) vessel operating in a field off the coast of Brazil. Originally scheduled to resume production in early September, the FPSO is now expected to come back online in November 2023.
The FPSO Petrojarl I underwent preventive maintenance in May 2023, and production at the Atlanta field was initially planned to resume in mid-June. However, the field was brought back online at the end of June. After resuming operations, new tests were conducted to identify the causes of repetitive failures in the subsea pumping equipment used for the field's early production system (EPS).
By July 2023, Enauta identified that most issues were concentrated in the subsea pumping electrical system, prompting a temporary halt in production at the Atlanta field. Following the commissioning and testing of new components in August, the company expected production to restart by October 2023.
Enauta reported that the Atlanta field's production remained offline in September 2023 as electrical components of the EPS's subsea pumping equipment were being replaced. The first pumping set is anticipated to be ready for installation by the last week of October, contingent on support vessel availability and sea conditions. Consequently, production is now targeted to resume by November 2023.
Additionally, a pumping module with different technology has been contracted to enhance the EPS's reliability, with installation scheduled for January 2024. Located in block BS-4 in the Santos Basin at a water depth of 1,500 meters, the Atlanta field is operated by Enauta Energia, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company. Enauta holds a 100% interest in this asset, and the field has been in production since 2018.
Enauta acquired the FPSO OSX-2, known as the FPSO Atlanta, for the Atlanta Full Development System (FDS) in 2022 to replace the FPSO Petrojarl I. An anchoring campaign for this FPSO began last month, involving the installation of securing piles for the submarine system's flexible risers and torpedo anchors.
The first oil from the FPSO Atlanta is initially scheduled for August 2024, with six wells, eventually reaching ten wells by 2029.
