Eidesvik Offshore Extends Contract for Viking Princess with Wintershall Dea
Norwegian offshore vessel operator Eidesvik Offshore has once again prolonged its collaboration with Wintershall Dea, securing an additional contract extension for its renowned platform supply vessel (PSV) Viking Princess.
Initially hired by Wintershall Dea Norge in October 2020, the Viking Princess's stay was extended for a year following the exercise of the first option in October 2021. Subsequently, Eidesvik Offshore utilized additional extension options in October 2022 and March 2023, ultimately prolonging the vessel's contract from July 2023 to January 2024.
This recent extension agreement solidifies the Viking Princess's role with Wintershall Dea, with the contract set to continue from January 2024 to January 2025.
Gitte Gard Talmo, CEO and President of Eidesvik Offshore, expressed enthusiasm for the prolonged collaboration, emphasizing that this extension serves as a testament to the high-quality operations and services delivered by Eidesvik Offshore.
Constructed at Kleven Verft in Ulsteinvik, the Viking Princess is designed as a VS489 PSV LNG, standing as the world's first offshore vessel equipped with a battery hybrid energy storage solution to replace a traditional generator. Notably, the vessel was outfitted with a shore power system in November 2021, further enhancing its capabilities and sustainability features.
