EnerMech, a UK-based integrated solutions specialist, has successfully obtained a five-year contract to provide offshore crane operation and maintenance services in Malaysia. This contract is expected to drive an increase in the company's workforce.
EnerMech's global team, consisting of crane operators, mechanics, inspectors, and technicians, will be deployed to Asia to deliver crane operation and maintenance services across multiple offshore assets.
Christian Brown, CEO of EnerMech, expressed his satisfaction with securing this long-term contract in Asia, especially with a client they already support in other areas. He emphasized that their integrated technical solutions and collaborative approach are gaining recognition and making them a preferred choice over competitors.
As part of the contract, EnerMech will transfer and train qualified local personnel from the incumbent's workforce to ensure consistent project support for the undisclosed client. Additionally, the company plans to hire new talent within the region to strengthen their capacity for delivering the contract.
Garry Ford, EnerMech's regional director for Asia Pacific, highlighted their extensive experience and understanding of the client's operations, combined with their global crane expertise, as key factors positioning them to provide optimized technical solutions for each campaign across all covered assets. He stressed that EnerMech's safety culture will be core to every operation, and as they integrate the existing Malaysian team into their workforce and recruit new employees locally, they will offer incentives to retain talent and provide competency training, thereby promoting sustainable career opportunities in the country.
EnerMech's cranes and lifting division serves various industries, including oil and gas, LNG, hi-tech, nuclear, and clean energy. Recently, the company secured new contract awards totaling over $128 million in Africa, the Caspian region, and the Middle East.
