Maersk Training, a subsidiary of A.P. Moller - Maersk, has secured a long-term training services deal with Sapura Drilling, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sapura Energy Berhad. This partnership establishes Maersk Training as the strategic and primary training provider for Sapura Drilling's tender-assisted drilling (TAD) rig fleet. The collaboration aims to deliver competence and compliance training through various channels, including face-to-face, digital, and onboard training, facilitated by Maersk Training's Training Management Services (TMS) team.
Dale Hart, Head of HR at Sapura Drilling, emphasized the importance of training and development in maintaining a high-performing workforce. The partnership with Maersk Training is expected to support Sapura Drilling's commitment to delivering quality services to clients and upholding core values. With over 50 years of drilling experience across Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and the Americas, Sapura Drilling operates 11 TADs in its fleet.
Tom Milburn, Maersk Training's Global Head of Commercial for Simulation, expressed delight in securing the contract with Sapura Drilling and pledged to provide a high level of service to enhance safety and operational performance while reducing the total cost of training. The partnership formalizes the existing collaboration between the two companies and streamlines the booking process, as highlighted by Sara Verghese, Maersk Training's newly appointed Global Head of Onboard Training.
Maersk Training, with its extensive experience and a workforce of over 500 personnel, specializes in enhancing safety culture and driving operational performance across industries such as oil and gas, maritime, and renewables. This partnership aligns with Maersk's strategy of integrated logistics and separation of energy-related activities, which began in 2016.
