Neptune Energy Commences Gas Production at Adorf Z18 Well in Germany
Neptune Energy has achieved first gas production from the Adorf Z18 well, an operated gas well located in the municipality of Georgsdorf, North-Western Germany. This milestone marks a significant step in Neptune's ongoing efforts to expand its production capacity and enhance its business in the region.
The Adorf Z18 well, situated in the Carboniferous formation, is expected to contribute to Neptune's production from the Adorf license by approximately 1900 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe/d), resulting in a total output of around 8200 boe/d. Earlier this year, a dedicated processing plant was completed at the site to facilitate the treatment of the gas.
Andreas Scheck, Neptune Energy's Managing Director in Germany, expressed enthusiasm about the Adorf Carboniferous field development, hailing it as one of the company's most promising endeavors in Germany. This achievement reflects Neptune's commitment to growing its business in the region and underscores its confidence in the potential of the Adorf gas field.
The Adorf gas field was discovered in 2020, and the first well, Adorf Z15, commenced production in the same year. Subsequently, the second well, Adorf Z16, began production at the start of 2022, while the third well, Adorf Z17, increased Neptune's production from the license to approximately 6300 boe/d in June 2023.
Neptune Energy holds a 100% ownership stake in the Adorf Carboniferous gas field, allowing the company to exercise full control over the production and development activities at the site. This latest achievement further strengthens Neptune's position in the German energy market and contributes to the company's broader growth strategy in the region.
