Strike action by oil and gas workers has been averted after Unite and GMB reached a new deal with employers.

The threat of industrial action by union members within the UK oil and gas industry was suspended after the Offshore Contractors Association reached an agreement with unions over current changes to working conditions and the recent industry downsizing.

Recent industry cuts have significantly reduced manpower both on and offshore which raised concerns about workers safety.

A revised offer is currently being drafted and will be put to union members once finalised.
