Oil Workers Taken Off North Sea Platform After Incident
Oil workers have been taken off a North Sea platform after it lost power.
Operator TotalEnergies said that, as a precaution, 46 non-essential staff came ashore from the Culzean platform - 140 miles (225km) east of Aberdeen.
A further 70 staff have remained on-board.
The firm said there are no concerns for the safety of those on the platform and work is ongoing to restore power, with two specialists and extra equipment deployed to help.
The cause of the incident, which occurred at about 20:00 on Saturday during a planned production shutdown, is not yet known.
Total has set up a dedicated team to handle any calls from family members. The number to call is 01224 455 199.
Culzean was discovered in 2008 when it was described as the largest gas find in a decade.
