Redundant Aberdeen Oil Worker Helps Scottish Businesses Prepare for Opening

When the oil downturn struck due to Covid-19 and Marko Steiger found himself on the redundancy list at Halliburton, the 30-year-old Mud Engineer didn’t waste any time in diversifying. Starting www.palmsafe.co.uk the oil worker turned businessman has gained an almost cult following online for his companies range of premium scented hand sanitisers
Offering a superior product that promises not to dry and crack the skin, the company’s personal range of sanitisers are made from isopropyl alcohol as opposed to the harsher ethanol that most shop bought sanitisers are made from. Searching online it seems there is clear evidence that isopropyl alcohol is the better option, but some further searching reveals it is three times the price of ethanol which may explain why shops competing on price offer much cheaper ethanol-based sanitisers.
Speaking to Energy People Marko Steiger said that his company is now supplying businesses nationally with sanitiser and Palm Safe is now able to offer 1 litre bottles with a pump and 5 litre and 25 litre refill bottles as well as automatic sanitiser stations. The company is also wholesaling to hair and beauty salons who will be making the products available to their customers.
Marko said: "We have been doing very well with our 250ml personal bottles. They are available in 7 different scents and some businesses in Aberdeen will be supplying them to their staff when they return to work. With a requirement for shops and receptions to provide sanitiser stations our new 1 litre bottles with a pump nozzle are proving very popular. Businesses are keen to shop local and in turn we are sourcing almost all of our raw materials in Scotland."
With businesses required to be “covid secure” Palm Safe aim to supply a vital service to assist businesses with re-opening safely.
The company recently donated hand sanitiser to an Ellon care home and to the children’s charity, Aberlour, after customers opted to purchase an extra bottle at checkout to donate to keyworkers.
