A redundant oil worker turned businessman has told Energy People of the immense support that has been shown towards his new venture, www.palmsafe.co.uk

Marko Steiger launched the business that supplies hand sanitiser only two weeks ago and was quickly inundated with orders. The business has two ranges, a personal hand sanitiser that is scented and coloured and a commercial version that can be supplied in large quantities.

The company’s products have gone viral online amid dozens of positive reviews from happy customers keen to support a start-up.

Speaking to Energy People, Marko said: “We have been taken aback by the support from local businesses and individuals, it has really been quite overwhelming.

“We are working very hard to fulfil all orders and have increased production on our personal range to meet demand.”

The company’s personal range includes pineapple, strawberry, blueberry, apple, mango, lemon and coconut scented hand sanitisers with more scents launching soon. The range has gained great reviews online with many users saying it leaves their hands soft, moisturised and smelling fresh.

Commenting on the positive feedback, Marko said: “Our sanitisers all contain Aloe Vera whereas a lot of shop bought sanitisers only contain a much cheaper moisturising compound derived from vegetable oil, called glycerin. Our personal range is also made from isopropyl alcohol which is a lot less harsh on the skin than ethanol which is found in most shop bought hand sanitisers.

To give some perspective; ethanol currently sells at around £2 per litre, versus isopropyl, which at the moment can cost as much as £9 per litre, so there is a significant price difference, hence most sanitisers use the cheaper option and then add glycerin to try and counteract the drying effect ethanol has. We are offering a premium product that helps eliminate dry cracking skin and instead leaves your hands moisturised.”

The company aims to help supply local businesses that will need to provide sanitiser stations for staff and customers as Covid restrictions start to be lifted. Commenting further, Marko said: “We have been supplying large quantities of hand sanitiser to local businesses, some who want to make sure each of their staff has a bottle on their return to work. We are able to offer branded sanitisers with custom labels and are hoping to launch sanitiser stations where we will look after the refills also.”
