A new Aberdeen company that has already expanded into Dundee and Inverness, has emerged offering a solution to businesses who want to re-open safely after lockdown.
ViraClear has been formed by two friends who have been made redundant from the oil and gas industry and saw a gap in the market as coronavirus took its grip of the country. Expected to employ a further 10 staff, they have invested in cutting-edge Ultra-Low-Volume (ULV) fogging machines that disperse disinfectants into the air. The microns sit on surfaces giving it a protective layer from all bacteria, viruses and are proven to kill Covid-19 on contact for a minimum of 7 days.
Several local firms have already undergone the treatment including Meldrum House Country Hotel and Carnegie Fuels. Signing up with ViraClear to get back on track ahead of re-opening includes the showhomes at Snowdrop Developments, a number of oil and gas companies, Airbnbs and hairdressers.

ViraClear’s ground-breaking treatment dries almost immediately on contact and have been laboratory tested to EN standards. Since launch, the business has seen a huge uptake from a number of different sectors. It allows the likes of hotels, restaurants, schools, gymnasiums, and even public transport to be able to operate, knowing that their staff and visitors will be safe. The team at ViraClear minimise disruption to businesses by offering an out-of-hours service ensuring that everything is ready to open again within a couple of hours.
Co-owner of ViraClear, Ewan Robson commented; “The beauty of our treatments is that they are easily portable, odourless, dry quickly and are perfect for businesses of all sizes. If someone does have coronavirus and they enter premises that we have sprayed, the lasting protection we apply on surfaces will kill it immediately. It’s a belt and braces approach for companies wishing to re-open during this time.”
They offer a range of disinfectants, all of which dry within 2 hours leaving no noticeable signs. They are all non-toxic, non-hazardous and environmentally friendly. Tiny droplets fall on surfaces as small as dust particles and avoid areas becoming wet. It means hard to reach areas can be disinfected that can’t be achieved through conventional cleaning and is safe on furnishings as well as electrical equipment, including computers and sockets.

Not only are they offering indoor fogging, but also outdoor treatments ready for the launch of alfresco dining next week. The company also supply machines and disinfectant to businesses coupled with intensive training programmes and PPE.
Ewan added; “Things have happened quickly but before launch we’d done extensive research on all our products to ensure the best quality possible with the highest level of safety and assurances. We’re also about to start selling a brand new hand sanitising liquid that lasts for 24-hours even after hand-washing, which we know will prove popular and economic during this time.”
