TechnipFMC, a UK-based global energy services company, has announced an expansion of its collaboration with Brazilian state-owned oil and gas giant, Petrobras. Under a significant contract, TechnipFMC will supply flexible pipes for pre-salt fields offshore Brazil. This includes the design, engineering, and manufacture of 14 kilometers of gas injection riser pipes and the provision of associated services, such as packing and storage.
This contract marks another milestone in the long-standing collaboration between TechnipFMC and Petrobras. The two companies have built a strong partnership over the years, earning the trust of each other in delivering successful projects.
Petrobras has recently unveiled ambitious plans to put 11 additional FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) units into operation in Brazil's pre-salt layer by 2027. These developments are expected to significantly boost oil and gas production, allowing Petrobras to achieve a production target of 2.4 million barrels of oil equivalent (boe).
TechnipFMC's involvement in supplying flexible pipes for Petrobras is just one facet of their broader collaboration. The UK-headquartered firm is also under a contract for life-of-field services with Petrobras, providing support for the company's installed base offshore Brazil.
In addition to its activities in Brazil, TechnipFMC is actively engaged in other international projects. The company has secured a project in Angola for the installation of flexible pipe and associated subsea structures. This project is part of a life extension initiative operated by TotalEnergies EP Angola, demonstrating TechnipFMC's global reach and capabilities in the energy sector.
