Woodside Energy has extended its contract with Wood for brownfield engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCm) services at the North West Shelf (NWS) project in Australia. The contract, which runs through October 2025, signifies the enduring partnership between the two companies and underscores Wood's operational prowess in Australia. However, the contract value remains undisclosed.

In addition to the contract extension, Woodside Energy has also entrusted Wood with front-end engineering and design (FEED) work for the Goodwyn Alpha Low-Low Pressure project, situated off the coast of Western Australia. Wood's teams based in Perth will provide engineering designs, focusing on integrating additional compression to optimize asset production and implementing modifications to existing facilities.

The Goodwyn Alpha project, operated by Woodside on behalf of NWS partners, has been in operation since 1995. Located 138 km northwest of Dampier and positioned in 131 meters of water, it plays a pivotal role in producing gas and condensate from various fields. The extracted resources are then transported through the GWA platform to the Karratha gas plant.

Wood's involvement in the NWS project goes beyond this recent extension and FEED work. In 2019, the company conducted FEED work and detailed design for flowlines in the Greater Western Flank Phase 2 (GWF-2) project. This complex endeavor encompassed eight subsea wells spread across six fields, all connected to the GWA platform via a 35 km pipeline. Furthermore, Wood had previously contributed to the Julimar Phase 2 project in 2017, solidifying its continuous involvement in Woodside Energy's offshore initiatives.
