Norwegian oil and gas giant Equinor has secured a permit from the country’s authorities for the drilling of a wildcat well, located in the Norwegian Sea.

Even though Norway saw a significant increase in gas production in May 2022 compared to the figures from the same period last year, this is only a small boost in regards to the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate’s predictions. On the other hand, the oil output dropped below predictions for the third month in a row, continuing its downward trend.

Following duty holder role transfer, Petrofac has won a five-year integrated services provider deal with Anasuria Operating Company (AOC), a UK-based jointly‐controlled company held equally by Ping Petroleum and Hibiscus Petroleum’s Anasuria Hibiscus UK.

PGNiG Upstream Norway, a Norwegian subsidiary of Poland’s oil and gas company PGNiG, has been granted consent for exploration drilling in the Norwegian Sea by Norway’s offshore petroleum safety regulator. The activities will be carried out using a rig managed by Odfjell Drilling.

Norwegian offshore petroleum safety regulator has granted Neptune Energy consent for exploration drilling in the North Sea off Norway, using the Deepsea Yantai rig.

Norwegian oil and gas company Aker BP has received a drilling permit from Norwegian authorities for a wildcat well located in the Norwegian Sea. The drilling activities will be carried out by an Odfjell Drilling-owned rig.

An alliance between Repsol Sinopec, TechnipFMC, and Petrofac has started the pre-front end engineering and design studies (Pre-FEED) for the development of the Ithaca Energy and Hibiscus owned Marigold field in the North Sea via the Repsol Sinopec-operated Piper Bravo platform.

Norwegian state-owned giant Equinor and its compatriot Sval Energi have entered into an agreement for the sale of Equinor’s non-operated share in the Greater Ekofisk Area and a minority share (19 per cent) in the Martin Linge field, both located in the North Sea offshore Norway.
