According to the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD), the drilling of well 31/4-A 13 E in the northern part of the North Sea has revealed an estimated recoverable oil volume ranging between 0.2 and 0.5 million Sm3.

This discovery marks the second successful find from the company's ongoing exploration efforts, solidifying its position in the region.

The primary objective of the seismic campaign was to establish a high-resolution imaging of the CO2 storage complex, thus laying the foundation for effective monitoring of storage integrity.

The well was tested, revealing a four-way structural trap in the outboard Wilcox trend located in Keathley Canyon Block 964. It encountered approximately 250 feet (75 meters) of net oil pay in the primary Wilcox target.

Eni believes that this discovery could be tied to the Bontang LNG facilities on the coast of East Kalimantan, further optimizing its ullage capacity.

This breakthrough, known as the Norma prospect, is more than just a notable find; it's being hailed as a "play-opener" for the region, dramatically lowering the risk associated with future exploration activities in the area.

The ambitious initiative is in line with the company's commitment to expand its natural gas operations and investments in the region.

This initiative aims to support the growing interest in oil and gas exploration in the region.

The project, named Trion, is located 30 km south of the Mexico-U.S. maritime border.

These acquisitions were accompanied by the purchase of the FPSO Cidade de Vitoria, operating on the Golfinho field, from Saipem.
